Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM) produces high quality mutual fund performance fact sheets using a hosted implementation of Synthesis’ SPA. The production process begins with Merrill uploading source data from their corporate data warehouse. SPA allows that data to be contributed in a variety of formats, which need not arrive all at once or in the same form.

Within minutes of the data arriving, SPA generates both Virtual Document drafts and high-quality PDFs. MLIM’s content owners and reviewers then work in parallel to check and refine the language, data, formats, and usage logic.

SPA’s flexible user interface allows users to view precisely the material they need in order to sign off on content. For instance, the risk and performance group works with a simple, validated, source data presentation as they edit and approve the performance figures. Their data approval action triggers the marketing team’s review and approval of the chart presentation of the same data.
